Why do people make such a bid deal about gay marriage?

Really we have a generation problem. Most people don`t know that Mexico is more gay friendly then the US and the Mexican citizens are heavily restrained by Catholicism. Mexican girls are even having less kids which the Catholic church traditionally frown upon which is why my mother left the church and is mostly agnostic now. However it must of worked early on for me because I don`t have what it takes to sell you something I would not buy. Can`t do it my compass will not allow it. I don`t care if some Churches don`t want to marry gay people but if a church wants to marry gay people then the state/country who has the powers invested by that state of........ should acknowledge them.
