Can I use wood to make helicopter rotor?

I will make a low-cost homemade manned helicopter project. Since composite material like fiberglass is hard to find around my neighborhood and low budget that I have, can I use wood as a subtitute for the helicopter rotor/propeller? Or is there any alternative material?
